Sydney Andrew was born  27th. November 1870, the last  child of James and Mary Jane  Andrew. He married Emily  Hammett on 8th April 1891, aged twenty, named Andrews and  subsequently his family used  that name rather than Andrew.  Like three of his brothers he  was a house painter. The family had moved to Croft Street,  Aberavon by 1901, but there is  no information on why they left Swansea. In total they had  seven children. There are no  photographs of Sydney but there is one of Emily. Sydney died on the  15th of August 1911 and within 12 months, Emily had re-married to a  Bertram George Barnes. She had two more children with George before they emigrated to Moose Jaw in Canada in 1927. George was sixteen  years younger than Emily but may not have realised this as on the  immigration record she gave her age to be ten years younger than her  actual age.
